Due to the use of alkaline water to wash the fabric, it causes alkali erosion of silk fabrics( more severe erosion of silk fibers), the fiber surface becomes uneven and rough. However, Sandwash represents an all brand new style after its being well received in the market.      

After the sandwash, the surface of silk fabric looks like there being a layer of white hair, so that the fabric has an hairy feeling and vintage style. It is because of the severe erosion of the base that the previously stiffer fiber structure becomes softer and thus the overall piece of fabric becomes more supple as a whole.
